Part 2: Oxford
I come with my mum on the oxford express bus from London and i find out that i have to lug my baggage around town (great). but it wasn't too bad b/c we found a nice taxi soon enough. i go into my flat and find out that i'm living with eight other people! gah!not to mention that i'm living with 5 guys. omigosh! chungy living with five males?!
luckily, they're very nice and accomodating and i get to have the top room with the lovely skylight. woot.
anyhoo, i live with 2 other girls who are really sweet and fun to hang out with. so we basically all get along and it's peachy keen.
first day is orientation and i meet lots of americans, fun stuff.
the next couple of days is acquainting myself with oxford and the people...not to mention the pubs. i didn't think that i would drink that much here, but apparently the only way to meet people here is to go to the pub and drink and chat up folks. but it's really fun b/c i haven't had many types of beer (lager), ale, cider, etc before so i'm trying all of this new stuff.
i've already met up with my primary and secondary tutors and i've already begun to read. and yes, we do have to do a LOT of reading, my first suggested reading list was 18 books (much less than the 40 i was expecting though). i get to learn about napoleon and his military strengths! it's really fun, and i'm also learning biochemistry from a canuck. so this is all good and fun.
i also have had some choice encounters with boys (none of my flatmate boys who are off limits and more like my brothers/friends than anything else, so that would be ew)
