Stratford-upon-Avon

i think that all the great western centers of culture, politics, and business are less than 5 hours away.

So today Kat, Jeff, and I went to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare.

the entire city is built on that one name: Shakespeare (i think they should stop the hypocrisy and just name it after him, but that would be even more tasteless)

it was clean, beautiful, and pleasant (it helped that the day was quite sunny and cool).

But i finally realized what the term "rolling hills" was refering too. we certainly don't have them in texas or the midwest! in england, when you're driving through the countryside, the glorious beauty of the hills will almost shock you. the richly verdant carpet sweeps through the entire landscape. and the occasional sheep, horse, or cow adds detail to the picture. so rolling hills...the farmlands here are not flat, when you look at them, they look like rolling hills, hence the name.

I have several pictures that i'm posting on my blog soon, so i'll have them up shortly. look at them!

and finally, i think i'm a total slimeball b/c i jokely jabbed fun at one of my flatmates (brian) during a conversation i had with someone. now this someone happened to be "the girl" that he had been hanging out with this entire week, and is trying to be more than just chummy with. oh shit. i feel soooo awful, and i hope i didn't ruin any potential dating relationship. especially since i've already sabotaged my own.

so i've locked myself into my room, and i'm currently beating myself over the head (figuratively of course).
