guy fawkes' night

yesterday:

went to stonehenge. had v. low expectations so was pleasantly surprised at the breadth and history of the henges.

went to city of bath. roman baths were quite disappointing. only the central bath was intact. everything else was relegated in some fashion to a modern facade. hm.

walked around bath with claire, and my camera conveniently started to die out. curses!

came back on bus, flew out of bus, and ran like a madwoman to informal hall.

met up with alex and russell. splendid fellows! absolutely adore them now.

we went out to the guy fawkes fireworks display and effigy burning in south parks off of st. clemens/london road.

i was so amazed! they were much better than the 4th of july fireworks i've seen throughout my entire life! so now i will forever celebrate guy fawkes day with more awe than our independence day. how sad.

than i saw the gigantic stack of wood/petrol/ and the effigy of guy fawkes and the v. top. it was massive. i didn't realize the bonfire had to be so immense.

anyway, we saw that. and then alex and i went on the bumper cars. called...something else here. v. exciting times.

afterwards, alex, russell, and i went and bought massive quantities of v. good wine. then we went to the turf and they made me drink a double shot of whisky (gasp). which i didn't drink, rather i made russell down his whisky and drink half of mine.
